Is a Paper Military Registration Document Needed if a Digital Military Registration Document is Available?
No, it is not needed.
Point 9 of Procedure 559 states that a military registration document in digital form (including a printed version) and a military registration document in paper form have the same legal force.
According to point 11 of the same Procedure, the verification of the military registration document in digital form is carried out by scanning the QR code by the verifier using technical means that allow the reproduction of the details of the military registration document in digital form as an informational message. The QR code must be readable by the verifier’s technical means, intact, undamaged, and applied to any medium of sufficient size and necessary contrast. The basis for non-confirmation of the military registration document in digital form is the unreadability of the QR code by technical means.
This is the only precaution you should understand when carrying only an digital military registration document.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in its letter 321/exit.ZPI/550 dated 30.07.2024, stated: “If a military registration document is available in digital form, there is no need to additionally obtain a military registration document in paper form.“
